Harmony Animal Hospital

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available medications to help avoid any anesthetic complications, especially with regard to our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.  Our anesthetic protocol also incorporates pain management medications to keep pets comfortable post-surgically.

Diagnostic imaging: We offer in-hospital access to veterinarians who specialize in performing ultrasounds to more accurately diagnose and treat cardiac and abdominal organ conditions that could not be identified otherwise.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.

Electrocardiography Services:  Our computer analyzed ECG machine allows the most refined sensitivity for diagnosing cardiac arrythmias and deviations in your pet.  This tool is an essential part of our ability to perform cardiac workups, aided by the use of thoracic radiographs and sometimes ultrasound.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Permanent identification: Microchip identification is provided at your request to help aid in the safe return of your pet should he or she become lost.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet, available by prescription at competetive rates with respect to on-line vendors. We also carry a full line of prescription diets to help alleviate specific ailments such as kidney disease, urinary crystal formation, allergy disorders, etc.

Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.

Bathing:  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available.

Emergency Care:  We attempt to provide emergency services for our patients and those of referring veterinarians 24 hours a day, year round.  Please refer to our emergency services page for more information on this provision.

Blood  Pressure  Management: The significance of hypertension has only become evident in the last 6-7 years. This is because it is not as easy to measure BP in dogs and cats, given their decreased inclination to sit still!  Much more frequently we are recognizing patients with high blood pressure, quite often associated with chronic kidney diseases, and all our intensive care patients have their blood pressure taken at least once daily.

Allergy Testing: Environmental, food, and flea allergies have become more problematic in recent years than ever before.  While flea allergies are relatively easily diagnosed with physical examination and food allergies through hyposensitization trials with prescription food products and dietary controls, environmental allergies are best diagnosed through blood testing, a service we provide with an allergist of greater than 40 years experience.

Cremation: An unfortunate consequence of being a dutiful pet owner means caring for them during the decline of their health.  We offer a cooperative with a highly respectable cremation service to properly dispose of the remains of your deceased pet, and the service also allows for indivudual cremation whereby your pet's ashes can be returned to you.
